Position Summary

The Talent Acquisition Program Coordinator will be responsible for the Apprenticeship and Internship programs.  The Coordinator will represent our organization at career fairs and at high schools, as well as vocational schools, community colleges and universities in order to recruit summer interns and apprentices.  The Talent Acquisition Program Coordinator also will recruit for field and trade positions.  This individual will assist with developing, executing and supporting various HR initiatives, procedures and systems, including administering and aggregating data from our Exit Survey program.  He or she also will manage the Employee Referral program. 

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Oversee and create policies and procedures for the internship and apprenticeship program across multiple business units.
  • Develop and facilitate necessary training for Intern Champions, Intern Mentors, and Hiring Managers.
  • Create and maintain reports, as well as establish metrics, for the Internship Program.
  • Focus on continuous improvement and the evolution of the Internship Program.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with university and community college placement offices as a source to generate qualified applicants.
  • Partner with hiring managers to determine Intern and apprenticeship hiring needs.
  • Own the Exit interview process, including managing the exit survey platform, conducting exit interviews as requested, and reporting results to key personnel on a regular basis.
  • Manage the Field and Professional Employee Referral Programs, administering the day-to-day process as well as creatively communicating and promoting the program to Branch’s employees.
  • Conduct reference checks as needed for the Talent Management Team.

Duties/Responsibilities Cont.

  • Administer pre-hire assessments to potential candidates and report results to key personnel.
  • Source and prescreen candidates for field and trades positions.
  • Schedule interviews and coordinate travel arrangements if necessary.
  • Ensure exceptional candidate experience through consistent communication through the interview process Partner with hiring managers to determine Intern and apprenticeship hiring needs.
  • Maintain records on recruiting activities as required and maintain internal surveys
  • Communicate and disseminate information effectively regarding HR policies and programs

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s preferred
  • 2 to 3 years of HR program coordination or recruiting experience, experience managing a training or intern program is preferred
  • Great communication skills, both written and oral
  • Customer-service orientation
  • Excellent computer skills, knowledge of Excel and demonstrated ability in database management record keeping
  • Ability to multi-task, detail-oriented with strong prioritization skills and time management skills
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate a high level of initiative and drive
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge of the construction industry is a plus

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.  The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  This is largely a sedentary role; however, due to the nature of career fairs, there is walking, carrying and lifting items up to 25 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Typical office days and hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.; during career fair season hours may vary.
