SR PROJECT MANAGER

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Project with a strong background in electrical construction to lead and execute complex, high-impact projects. The ideal candidate will be a confident leader with a proven record of navigating challenging situations, aligning cross-functional teams, and delivering exceptional results.

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing complex projects from inception to completion. This role requires a seasoned professional with deep technical knowledge of electrical systems, strong project leadership skills, and a proven ability to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget. The Senior Project Manager will oversee project planning, resource allocation, cost management, scheduling, and coordination with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and field teams. This position will play a critical role in mentoring project teams, driving performance, and upholding company standards for quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

 

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Lead all phases of projects, including pre-construction planning, budgeting, scheduling, execution, and closeout.
  • Develop project budgets, track costs, approve invoices, manage change orders, and ensure financial targets are met.
  • Create and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones are achieved and coordinating with field supervision and subcontractors to meet deadlines.
  • Direct and support project engineers, assistant project managers, and field staff. Promote collaboration, accountability, and team development.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and other trade partners. Manage communication, updates, and expectations throughout the project life cycle.
  • Ensure all work meets project specifications, local codes, and industry standards. Oversee QA/QC procedures and resolve technical issues as needed.
  • Oversees procurement of materials, equipment, and services. Negotiate and manage subcontractor agreements and performance.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies. Monitor safety performance and ensure compliance with company and OSHA safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, progress reports, and financial updates.

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management.
    • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in electrical project management.
    • Experience collaborating with engineers, subcontractors, and field crews.
    • Strong understanding of cost control, change order management, and scheduling principles.
    • Deep knowledge of local codes, industry standards, electrical system design, installation practices, and troubleshooting.
    • Demonstrated initiative, works well in a team environment, and adapts easily to collaborating with individuals from various disciplines.
    • Strong leadership, decision-making, and organizational skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to job sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master Electrician license.
  • 5 years in a senior leadership role

This position requires frequent field visits, 50% field and 50% office or as necessary. 

Supervisory Responsibility

Directly supervises three to eight employees and consultants involved in each project. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position which will involve at least 40 hours per week. Overtime as needed to meet critical deadlines. Due to the nature of the job, the employee must be available on-call early/late hours to deal with delays, bad weather and emergencies.
