SR PROJECT SCHEDULER

Position Summary: 
The Senior Project Scheduler is an experienced, detail-oriented Scheduler Role, which develops and managers complex, fully integrated construction schedules and provides advanced critical path analysis, forecasting, and schedule recovery recommendations. This role partners closely with project leadership to support planning, execution and performance management across multiple projects. The Senior Project Scheduler reports to the Scheduling Manager or Scheduling Director.  

Essential Functions: 

  • Follow the standardized scheduling procedures and methodologies throughout Branch. 

  • Work closely with proposal managers, project managers, engineers, designers, procurement staff, construction managers, estimators, and other project services staff to provide detailed planning and scheduling of projects from the beginning of a pursuit through the end of construction. 

  • Ensure compliance with client (contract) scheduling requirements 

  • Develop and maintain critical path logic networks. 

  • Develop revenue and cost loaded schedules as predictive tools for cash flow analysis 

  • Develop and maintain resource loaded schedules, including lists of activities, major milestones, critical approvals, long lead procurement items and other critical project deliverables to be scheduled and tracked for the projects. 

  • Analyze available manpower and resources, trends, schedule variations, schedule performance and schedule forecast. 

  • Assess the impact of design changes and schedule slippage and inform company management and clients of all schedule updates. 

  • Accumulate and access historical data for use in maintaining realistic future planning and forecasting. 

  • Provide guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult project control problems. May interface with clients, attend regular meetings and give statistical reports. 

  • May supervise junior staff members 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree, or technical training and related experience 

  • Five or more years construction scheduling experience, including 1-2 years of leadership experience leading scheduling tasks 

  • Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, etc., plus an in-depth understanding of the construction of infrastructure and/or building projects 

  • Working knowledge of standard cost control methods utilized in the execution of various types of projects 

  • Proficiency in various project controls software such as Excel and Primavera P6 

  • Experience working on Joint Venture projects is preferred

Travel  

The position requires intermittent travel and overnight lodging. 

 

Work Environment 
This position operates in an office environment with frequent project site visits. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers/scanners.

The employee must be able to lift or move up to 50lbs.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, midrange vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work 
This is a full-time position which will typically involve 40 hours a week.
