HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR - GLEN ALLEN

Position Summary

Branch Civil (BCI) is always searching for skilled, reliable, and experienced construction workers, operators, and professionals to join our well-established, growing company.  We have a variety of opportunities in the Glen Allen, VA area. These future employee-owners will contribute to the Branch's successful completion of projects in the heavy civil construction industry, including highways and site development. 

We're looking for experienced Heavy Equipment Operators, Dozer Operators and Excavator Operators.

Duties/Responsibilities

• May fasten attachments
• May connect hydraulic hoses, belts, mechanical linkage or power takeoff shaft to tractor to provide power to raise, lower or tilt attachment
• Operates controls to manipulate tool bars, carriers and disks
• Operates controls to maneuver equipment, lower and tilt attachments to clear right-of-way
• Listens for stalling action of engine to estimate depth of cut
• May service and make normal operating adjustments to equipment
• Work in a safe manner

Qualifications

• Knowledge of construction techniques
• 1 to 3 years of heavy equipment operating experience
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations
• DOT experience preferred, but not required

The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position which will typically involve 40+ hours a week. Due to the nature of the job, the employee must be available on-call early/late hours to deal with delays, bad weather and emergencies at the job site.
