INCIDENT MANAGEMENT TECHNICIAN

Position Summary

Branch is searching for an Incident Response Technician to join our well-established, growing company. The Incident Response Technician assists with roadway incident response operations by supporting traffic control, debris removal, and basic emergency maintenance activities. Working under the direction of the Incident Response Foreman, this role promotes safety, minimizes traffic disruption, and contributes to the safe restoration of normal roadway conditions.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist with deployment and adjustment of traffic control devices.
  • Clear minor roadway hazards and debris.
  • Support minor emergency repairs including patching and guardrail resets.
  • Maintain response vehicles, equipment, and safety tools in operational readiness.
  • Install signage, cones, and barricades per MUTCD and DOT requirements.
  • Assist with incident documentation and reporting.
  • Actively participate in safety meetings and comply with all policies.
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings and communicate hazards immediately.
  • Perform equipment inspections and notify Foreman of maintenance needs.
  • May perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Direct Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) crews and subcontractor needed 
  • May act as lead or coordinator of Incident Response in lieu of foreman/manager

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 

  • Ability to communicate clearly and follow instructions under time-sensitive conditions. 

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record. 

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position which will typically involve 40+ hours a week. Due to the nature of the job, the employee must be available on-call early/late hours to deal with delays, bad weather and emergencies at the job site.
