Position Summary

Branch Group is searching for a Safety Intern to join our Summer Internship program.  We are searching for rising Juniors and Seniors who are pursuing degrees in Safety, Health or Science. Our program is designed to provide a structured and supportive learning environment whereby the Safety Intern will develop impactful skills and attributes necessary for a successful career in the construction industry. The Safety Intern will work both in the office and on various jobsites. We are looking for students with integrity because it’s not just about the work we do, but how we do it.


  • With the training, support and mentoring necessary to cultivate their constructive development, our Intern will be tasked with actual responsibilities of the Safety team.
  • Interact with subcontractors, vendors and owners.
  • Effectively communicate and present the company safety program to increase the safety awareness of all employees and subcontractors. 
  • Assist with enforcement of safety policies and procedures under the direction of the project team. 
  • Attend, audit and participate in project safety meetings.
  • Assist with frequent electronic inspections of projects ensuring safety compliance of all employees and subcontractors.
  • Assist project teams in the investigation and documentation of incidents. This may include providing assistance to memorialize incidents by using necessary resources including photographs, incident reports, employee / witness statements, etc.  
  • During the final stages of the program, the Intern will prepare a presentation outlining their experience at Branch.
  • Follow safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action steps.

Duties/Responsibilities Cont.


  • Currently enrolled college students interested in Construction Safety and/or Environmental Health.
  • Courteous and professional attitude when dealing with co-workers, customers and the public.
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and computer skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Travel is required.  A valid driver’s license with a good driving record is mandatory.
  • Passionate and determined to make a difference.

The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position which will typically involve 40+ hours a week.
