Position Summary

Branch Civil, Inc. is searching for a collaborative and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join our well-established, growing company.  The Estimator must possess a working knowledge of heavy civil construction and site development as related to all disciplines. The position reports to the Estimator.

  • Quantify project components assigned by the estimator in charge
  • Develop a clear understanding of the project scope and phasing utilizing the project plans and specifications
  • Executing accurate and detailed quantity takeoffs utilizing AGTEK, Planswift, and Bluebeam software.
  • Maintain take-off spreadsheets for organizing material descriptions and quantities, back up of work, and project summaries
  • Supports estimators by preparing site layout drawings, KMZ overlays, haul charts, and other detailed drawings and diagrams for heavy civil and site development projects.
  • Compose quantity comparison spreadsheets.
  • Identifying constructability issues through the estimating process.
  • Assisting in sub-contractor and supplier solicitations.
Duties/Responsibilities Cont.
  • Work with estimator in charge to prepare and/or deliver the bid package
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications/Education:

  • Vocational High School/Associates Degree/Technical degree in Computer Aided Drafting/ Construction Management or heavy civil or related field construction experience is preferred
  • 2+ years of prior estimating experience preferred
  • Proficiency with AGTEK earthwork software or similar.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
  • Self-motivated, self-starter, who demonstrates the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Office days and hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Work hours may include occasional overtime to meet bid schedule demands.
